Star Wars - First reviews sting, OTR indications...

VideoGaming247 - September 6, 2008

Submitted by noobie (186) at 10:42AM PST on September 7, 2008

The first magazine reviews are in for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and it’s all looking a bit painful so far. According to Metacritic the four reviews so far have left an average of 68 percent. Here’s who’s scored it: * OXM - 75 * GamePro - 7 * gamesTM - 7 * EGM - 56 Some of the stuff we’ve been told off the record about TFU this week really isn’t encouraging. And we’ll leave it at that.

Exciting. According to an interview in Spanish Ninty mag Club Nintendo, the Wii may not be getting a hard drive. Or maybe it will! Said Reggie Fils-Aime: “I want the people to have the right expectations; we have never said that it will be a hard drive nor have we mentioned how we will fix this issue, but we are going to deliver a better way to store the games.”

NHL 09 (PS3)
IGN gives NHL09 an 9.0

IGN - September 6, 2008

Submitted by noobie (186) at 5:09PM PST on September 6, 2008

this year's hockey offering from EA Sports not only doesn't disappoint, it raises the bar set by NHL 08 in nearly every way, from awesome new modes to slight refinements, to the already stellar controls. NHL 09 isnt just a great hockey game, its one of the best sports games to be released in the last decade. It takes the right analog stick controls first pioneered in last years game and pushes them forward ever so slightly while pouring on features that everyone will appreciate.

Bioshock (PS3)
GameSpot: BioShock Hands-On

GameSpot - September 6, 2008

Submitted by noobie (186) at 10:37AM PST on September 7, 2008

BioShock remains a must-play game for this generation, so if you haven't checked it out yet, the PlayStation 3 version of the game is one more chance for you to give it a try. The game is coming together really well. The faithful conversion of the main game is looking good and might even be sharper in places. The additional content, challenge rooms, modes, and trophies are nice extras to have, although we obviously would have liked to see more.
